What is Juicing?
Juicing is simply the process of extracting the juices from fruit and vegetables to create a highly nutritious drink, often referred to as liquid gold because of the way juice allows nutrients to be quickly absorbed into your system – usually within 15 minutes of consumption!
All indigestible fibre (the pulp) is removed, leaving only the soluble kind of fibre, such as pectin, which means your body doesn’t use up lots of energy digesting the food.
Compared to blending, which uses the whole fruit or vegetable and therefore retains the fibre and calories, juicing gives you up to three times the amount of nutrients because it requires such a larger quantity of ingredients to produce the same volume of liquid in one smoothie.
Both blending and juicing are great for dramatically increasing your intake of fruit and vegetables; they’re just different.
